Hi, I'm Yosor, A first-generation college student passionate about advocating for civil rights and grassroots movements. I believe in advocating for human rights and equal opportunities for every human being regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or beliefs. And I hope that this site serves as an inclusive outlet to whoever may be interested in learning more about me and what I hope to educate others on important civic rights and help others in any way that I can.

Being a first-generation college student with immigrant parents is something I greatly pride myself on. My parents had come to the States as refugees with no family and had sold all their furniture and belongings so I can have the chance to be able to pursue higher education and even create this portfolio site. As you navigate through this finely developed site, I hope I am able to send my message across, and that message is for all of us to love one another, to have empathy for one another, and to care for each other. For that reason, I advocate for human rights because I believe in humanity and its potential.

As a counselor with the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association I supervise and assist adults with high-priority special needs. My duties with FVRSA consist of supervising the campers 1-1 at camp All-Stars in Aurora, IL. Duties consist of wheelchair assistance, bathroom assistance, supervision of the individuals, and maintaining the socioemotional needs of the adult I am caring for.

As a first-generation college student who is a political science and marketing double major I am passionate about furthering my education and assisting others. In my time at Aurora University I have become a Vice President for my university's honor society (Phi Eta Sigma), became a business honor society member (Delta Mu Delta), became a treasurer for the Aurora University pre-law student Association, and joined the America Marketing Association.

General Body member of the American Marketing Association. Attended University of Wisconsin Eau Claire's marketing convention as well as participated in the perfect competition at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.

Delta Mu Delta is an international honor society that recognizes academic excellence in Baccalaureate, Master's, and Doctorate degree business administration programs at Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Program at Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs-accredited schools. As president of the association I oversee matters, manage marketing the social media for the Delta Mu Delta Aurora University chapter, bring in key note speakers to speak to students, coordinate and plan events, and work on increasing campus involvement with members of the board as well as encouraging business students to focus on their studies to qualify for Delta Mu Delta.

The purpose of the Aurora University Pre-law student association is to increase enrollment amongst minority candidates seeking a law school education. The organization seeks to provide students of all backgrounds but especially focuses on low-income and minority students with providing them the sources needed to succeed and enroll in law school. As president of the Aurora University Pre-law student association I am committed to bringing the necessary resources for Aurora University students of all majors who seek a interest in the legal career a guiding hand as well as resources to explore the careers that are available through a law degree as well as how to seek a law degree and ensure acceptance into law school. TIME-MANAGEMENT
Throughout the course of my academic career, I have also maintained a job. I have worked for the entirety of my academic career alongside being a full-time student. Despite the obstacles that come with having a job outside of school I was effectively able to manage both and achieve outstanding academic achievements. I also have obtained leadership positions throughout my academic career. I am proud to lead a honor society and to be the president of my university's pre-law chapter. Additionally, obtaining two internships whilst being a student and continuing to achieve the honor of being on the Aurora University deans list proves my dedication to my studies as well as my efficient time management skills
PUBLIC SPEAKING
Participated in Chicago Kent's College of Law rigorous academic program Developed trial advocacy skills through preparation and presentation of oral arguments as well as taking a trial advocacy course. Engaged in Mock Trials presented to judges, lawyers, and students at Chicago-Kent College of Law.
Appeared on C-SPAN in July of 2019 to showcase my winning speech in the Mikva Soapbox challenge, for social advocacy. The emphasis of the speech was to advocate for women's human rights in third-world countries. This speech was presented in the Washington, DC Newseum.
